Gareth Malone to get Warrington singing!
Gareth Malone – the man who got the nation singing – will be returning to the stage this autumn to inspire audiences across the UK once more.
The star of the BAFTA-winning series The Choir will present ‘Sing-Along-A-Gareth: 50 Years of Song’ with the aim of celebrating the simple joy of singing together.
Backed by his stellar live band and singers, as well as local choirs, Gareth will bring the show to Parr Hall on Saturday, 8 November.
After decades spent inspiring choirs in schools, workplaces and communities, the evening will explore some of the music that’s shaped Gareth’s life – and been the soundtrack to so many of ours.
The handpicked setlist will include a range of iconic songs going all the way from the ‘60s to present day, culminating in a roof-raising super-medley that promises to have the entire crowd dancing in the aisles.
Gareth said: “I’m thrilled to be hitting the road again with my fourth singalong tour. The audiences have been incredible, and these special evenings are my absolute highlights of the year. I can’t wait to get on stage and celebrate my 50th — and 50 incredible songs that are guaranteed to make you sing.”
Audiences can expect an uplifting night with renditions of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Nina Simone’s Feeling Good, Whitney Houston’s The Greatest Love of All and Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off among many others.
Choirmaster Gareth has galvanised the British choral scene through his award-winning BBC series, concert tours and recordings.
First appearing on TV in the The Choir for BBC, he has since starred in multiple series, including The Choir: Military Wives, Sing While You Work and Naked Choir: Invictus Games.
Gareth has also had three number one records in the UK with the Military Wives Choir and the Gareth Malone All Star Choir for Children in Need.
He is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Music, holds an honorary doctorate for the University of East Anglia and, in 2012, was made OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours for services to music.
A spokesperson for the tour added: “Whether you’re out with friends, bringing the whole family, or wanting to experience the magic that Gareth creates as a choirmaster, Sing-Along-A-Gareth is the ultimate feel-good night out.
“No experience needed – just a love of music and a willingness to join in. In a time where connection matters more than ever, this show is a reminder of how powerful, healing, and joyful singing together can be. You’ll leave smiling, humming, and feeling just that bit lighter.”
